CAMILLE DE GALBERT

WRITER / DIRECTOR

Camille is a graduate of the Conservatoire National de Région de Grenoble, France, in contemporary dance (2000). She continued her dance training in New York at The Merce Cunningham Studio. As a result of a knee injury, she renounced a dance career and turned her artistic attention towards video and drawing ventures, as a self-taught artist. She then applied her interests to cinema and moving image techniques at the NY Film Academy.

Through the years, Camille’s craft has grown to choreograph moving images into a dance of light, music, and dialogue. Camille’s work has been exhibited at La Maison Rouge (Paris), Me Collectors Room (Berlin), Cittadellarte-Fondazione Pistoletto (Biella, Italy), and Musee de l’Adresse Postale (Paris). Her most recent film, SIMON, has been very successful, winning multiple awards (Richmond International Film Festival, Blow Up - Chicago International Arthouse Film, Miami Short Film Festival, Malibu Film Festival and more) and screening it in over forty festivals worldwide. She is continually creating films infused with the unconscious, the oneiric, her journey as a dancer, in addition to her life in the U.S., where movements, expressions, sounds, shapes, and faces collide.
